Grygorcewicz WaclawGRYGORCEWICZ, Waclaw (Bill)  - (April 2nd, 1930 – July 18th, 2019)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Waclaw, peacefully surrounded by his family at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

Beloved and cherished husband of Erna, for 63 years.

Loving and devoted father of Irene Szatkowski and her husband Roman, and to his son, Robert.

Adored and proud dziadzi of Alysse and Marc Szatkowski.  Born to Jozef and Jozefa Grygorcewicz and predeceased by all of his siblings and their late spouses – Maria, Albert (Jadwiga), Jadwiga (Waclaw), Helena (Jan) and Lonia (John).

Survived by many nieces, nephews and their families in Canada, Poland, Germany and the U.S.  Waclaw worked for Fittings Limited for most of his life and then for Cliff Mills Motors until his retirement.

Waclaw immigrated from Germany, as a displaced person, in 1950 to Canada and accomplished much in a short span.  He was an intelligent, hardworking, humble man.  His religion, strong values and a willingness to serve others were an integral part of his daily life.

He loved being in the company of his family and friends, enjoyed music, dancing, fishing, playing cards, watching hockey and tending to his vegetable garden.  Dad will be missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing him.  His legacy lives on within his children and grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Dr. M. Chang, Dr. H. Dukic and the staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their care and compassion.

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Sunday, July 21st from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. with prayers at 7:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. HEDWIG’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 411 Olive Avenue, Oshawa on Monday, July 22nd at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Hedwig’s Parish would be appreciated.

Online condolences may be made at  oshawafuneralhome.com.
