WINTER, Marilyn Ruth (nee Mason)  - It is with sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Marilyn, in her 90th year.

Marilyn was a loving mother to Doug and his wife Diane, Ted and his wife Jenny.

Cherished grandmother to Jessica and Evan. Marilyn is pre-deceased by her sister Barbara Braid and her brother Robert Mason. Family was everything to Marilyn and her true joy was time spent with her family sharing stories and researching her family history.

Marilyn graduated as a Registered Nurse from Wellesley Hospital in 1950 and was a proud member of the “Nifty Fifties” alumni group forming lifelong friendships with her classmates. After working for several years in New Jersey, Marilyn returned to school at University of Western Ontario to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Marilyn had a long, successful career at Wellesley Hospital in Toronto with over 20 years in the Rehabilitation Clinic.

Marilyn was an accomplished decorative painter and loved to share her passion while teaching art classes, attending folk art conventions and exhibits. Marilyn loved to travel and particularly to the UK with her friends and dear sister Barbara.

Marilyn will be sadly missed by her friends and family.

A special heartfelt thank you to the staff at Trilogy Long Term Care Centre in Scarborough for their excellent and compassionate care of Marilyn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

Visitation will be held Wednesday July 31 from 7 to 9 PM and the funeral will be held on Thursday, August 1 at 11AM at McEachnie Funeral Home.

Marilyn’s final resting place will be in St. William’s, Ontario.

The Internment will follow at a separate date.
