POSTERARO, Mafalda (nee Porco) - Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Lakeridge Health – Oshawa on Monday, August 5th, 2019 in her 82nd year.
Dearly beloved wife of Giuseppe of 63 years.
Loving mother of Raffaela Thickett (Stephen), Frank (Marcy), Tony, Maria Darling (Gord) and Gino (Maria).
Cherished Nana of Lee (David), Tina (Tom), Julia (Aaron), Taylor, Sarah, Steven (Samantha), Robert, Alyssa (Kyle) Cory, Amanda, Christopher, Brian, Joshua, Justin and Great Nana of Julia, Jack, Molly, Austin, Zachary, Nolan, Colton, Spencer and Madison.
Survived by her sister Carolina. Predeceased by her parents Giuseppe and Rosina Porco and her brother Genesio. She will be missed by all her family and friends.
Mafalda was born and raised in Lago, Italy, she will be remembered for her wonderful smile, her love for her husband and family and her cooking.
Thank you to all the doctors and nurses on the Palliative Care Team at the Lakeridge Health – Oshawa and her home care nurse Alicia for her compassion and care.
Visitation will be held at Oshawa Funeral Home, on Thursday, August 8th, from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. Prayers at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARY OF THE PEOPLE CATHOLIC CHURCH (570 Marion Ave)., Oshawa on Friday, August 9th at 11:00 am, followed by entombment in Whitby.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lakeridge Health Foundation – Cancer Care.
