WOOD, Hazel Doreen (nee McCoy) - (July 15, 1933 – September 19, 2019) - It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Hazel “Doreen” Wood.
Doreen passed away at Bowmanville Hospital on Thursday, September 19, 2019.
Doreen was married to her beloved Reginald, for 61 years, who predeceased her September 30, 2015.
Doreen will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Donna (Mitch) Newbold and Cathy (Steve) Caldwell.
Adored grandmother of Matthew (Jacklyn), Carley (predeceased), Kristy (AJ) and Kyle (Nicole). Cherished great-grandmother to Izabella, Margaret, Adeline, Baby G (soon to arrive), Addison and Hunter.
Dear daughter of David and Mildred McCoy (both predeceased), sister of Dave (Marja) McCoy, Diane (John) Almand and missed by her several nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
Doreen was the essence of kindness and her joy for life transmitted where ever she had taken her smile and the sparkle in her eyes. Her beauty will never be extinguished from our minds.
We will all miss Doreen terribly, but her spirit and her legacy will live on in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be held at Low and Low Funeral Home, Port Perry, on Tuesday September 24th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Oak Ridges Hospice of Durham Ltd. in memory of Doreen Wood and Carley-Anne Caldwell.
