STAUFFER, Martha ‘Mattie’ (McLachlan) - Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday October 15, 2019.
She was 93.
Martha was born to parents John and Margaret McLachlan on July 13, 1926 in Port Glasgow, Scotland.
She immigrated to Canada in 1946 as a ‘War Bride’, married to Wilson Stauffer on June 7, 1946.
Martha was well respected in the Oshawa, Ontario community where she enjoyed both golf and curling at the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club.
Martha is survived by her three children Connie Brannigan (Keith), Ron Stauffer (Neena), and David Stauffer; sisters Margaret Liddell and Ann Dowe; five grandchildren Leanne (Adam), Jeff (Julie), Karen (John), Mike (Jodie), and Kristin (Daryl); nine great grandchildren Jenna, Matthew, Daria, JJ, Grayden, Carissa, Jordan, Ryan, and Joia; and two great-great grandchildren Olivia and Addison.
She was extremely proud of her family and found tremendous joy in every moment spent with them. She is predeceased by her husband Wilson and sisters Grace and Jenny.
Martha will be cremated, followed by a private family interment service where her ashes will be placed in keeping alongside her husband Wilson.
The family is grateful for the outpouring love, support and condolences they have received.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date to coincide with what would have been her 94th birthday.
