Passed away peacefully at Hillsdale Terrace on December 4, 2019 in her 100th year.

She will be greatly missed by her son Greg Reid (Sharon), granddaughters Lindsay Muirhead (Neil) and Meghan Reid (Rob Palermo), great granddaughters Nieve Palermo and Grace Muirhead, great grandson Callum Muirhead.

Beloved by Krys Reid, her nieces and nephews Barb Neubauer (Joe), Bernie Hurst (Marian), Ellie Borchuk (Gary), Chris Hurst (Mary-Jo), George Hurst (Ally), Heather Ames (Scott), Frannie Todd (Mike), Cheryl Bertrim (Brian), Sharon Green (Bill), Terry Donnelly and Mary-Lou Climie (Joe) and in-laws Thelma Wood (Gord), Harold Reid (Eleanor), Bette Milne (Harvey), Bert Reid, Wilson Reid (Eileen) and Gordie Reid (Judy).

Mary Ellen was predeceased by her husband Don Reid, parents Mary Ellen and Moses Cain, her brother Frank Cain (Lydia) and sisters Edna Kaye (Martin), Rose Vinkle (Joe), Eileen MacDonald (Roddy), Loretta Hurst (Thomas) and Veronica Donnelly (Ray). She will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews in Kingston, Sharbot Lake, BC and Durham region.

Mae Reid was a strong, caring woman with a good sense of humour who did not like being in the spotlight.

She dealt with challenges quietly without complaining and found comfort in her faith. Mae valued her independence right to the end, but Above all else she cherished family. Nothing brought Mae more joy, the kind that made her face light up, like being with Greg, Lindsay, Meghan, Nieve, Grace and Callum.

Mae Reid will live forever in our hearts. May we continue to be inspired by her example.

Arrangements entrusted with OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME.

Visitation will be held at HOLY CROSS PARISH, 373 Simcoe Street South, Oshawa, on Wednesday, December 11th from 10:00 a.m. until time of Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.

Mae was a selfless person who put family first. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sick Kids Foundation in honour of her great niece Roux Ginesi.
