Francelj AlbinFRANCELJ, Albin  - (January 6, 1938February 10, 2020)

Was born in Plesivica, Slovenia on Jan. 6, 1938. Passed away on Monday, February 10th, 2020 at the age of 81.

He emigrated to Canada at the age of 16 years. 

He married his life-long sole mate Ivanka Francelj in September 1966.  He worked in the Timmins underground mines for 42 years. 

Albin was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Holiday Garden-Slovenian Country Club. 

He was the proud and loving father to Dan (Stephanie) Francelj, Betty (Keijo) Huotari and Tony (Elaine) Francelj with 6 grandchildren – Brianna (Garrett), Katrina, Tatianna, Mikko, Curtis and Carter. 

Albin is survived by his sister Mary (Tony) Spehar and predeceased by his brother Janez. 

His favourite pasttimes were Hunting, Fishing, Gardening, working outdoors and Bocce. 

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Friday, February 14th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARY OF THE PEOPLE PARISH, 570 Marion Avenue, Oshawa on Saturday, February 15th at 10:30 a.m.  

In lieu of flowers, please send your donation to Lakeridge Hospital - Cancer or St. Vincent de Paul.
