EMMERSON, Joan Ellen (nee Black) - December 28, 1937 - February 22, 2020 -
With her family by her side, Joan passed away peacefully at Hillsdale Estates on Saturday February 22, 2020, at the age of 82, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.
Beloved wife of the late Robert (Bob).
Cherished mother to Nancy (Jim Stewart), Susan (Glen Hopley) and Heather (Ed Quon).
Devoted Grandma to Rachel, Ryan, Calli, Sydnee, Aaron, Shelby, Nick and Natasha.
Great Grandma (GG) to Brooke.
Sister to Judy (King), James, Greg, Dale and the late Gordon (Black).
Joan retired from Bell Canada after 25 years, in 1997. Joan will be sadly missed by her extended family in the East Coast, many friends and all who knew her.
Friends may call at Mount Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, Whitby, on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 1:30 followed by service in celebration of Joan’s life at the Mount Lawn chapel at 3 pm. Interment at Wesleyan Cemetery New Brunswick at a later date in the Springtime.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer society.
