LEGER, Evard (Ed) Legere   -  Died peacefully, on April 24th, 2020 at the age of 89, and is resting with our Lord.

Deeply loved by daughters Lisa (Robert) Theis and Catherine (Michael Katz) Legere, his grandchildren Nicholas, Samantha, Dalton and Jennifer, his brother Benny (Anne), and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Ed is predeceased by his brother Art.

Anyone lucky enough to spend time with Ed and his beloved brothers Benny and Art will not easily forget the joy they brought to any gathering.

Ed was born in Joggins, Nova Scotia, in 1931, to William and Lena (nee Hebert) Legere. Ed moved to Ontario as a young man and worked at a number of companies, including Wonder Bread, where he delivered bread by horse and buggy, and Ontario Electric, where he developed many close friendships.

Along with his first wife Mary (nee Shier) and dear friend Charlie, Ed successfully ran Fastway Supply in Scarborough for over 20 years.

With his second wife Ethel (nee Cormier) Ed spent his retirement years exploring destinations such as Hawaii and England, and escaping the Canadian winters in their condominium in Florida.

Ed had a strong faith that sustained him through difficult times.

In the last few years of his life, he often told his daughters how good his life had been and that he hoped people would not feel too sad when he was gone. We will try.

But just as Ed and his brothers were the life of any party, Dad was the life of our party and we will miss him terribly.

Cremation has taken place.  A Funeral Mass and memorial will be arranged as soon as it is safe to do so.
