Walsh MaryWALSH, Mary Bernice - (December 8, 1948June 8, 2020)

Age 72, left a lot of love behind when she passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020.

“When we lose someone we love,
We must learn not to live without them,

But to live with the love they left behind.”
~ Anonymous

Bernice was born December 8, 1948 in St. John's, Newfoundland to James and Margaret Sheehan. She was one of eight siblings and was cherished by every member of her family.

Bernice married her partner for life, Michael Walsh, in 1967 and together they raised two children in Scarborough and later in Whitby.

She was known for wearing her heart on her sleeve and always giving compassion, empathy, love and forgiveness freely. Bernice loved spoiling her children and grandchildren and spending time with family and friends. She also danced every opportunity she got, especially to The Beach Boys, Wipeout.

She touched many lives with her beautiful smile and ability to make everyone feel special.

Bernice lives on through her husband of 53 years, her daughter, Colette Secord and her son Todd Walsh.

She is also remembered by her seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren as the best Nana they could’ve ever asked for. Whether it was school graduations or birthday parties, she was in attendance for them all with the biggest smile on her face.

A celebration of life will be held for family and friends when possible.

Arrangements entrusted with OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME.

“To everything there is a season,
And a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to reap;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance.”
~ Ecclesiastes 3:1-4
