DUSSAULT, Mary (nee Ward) - Passed away at home in Oshawa on July 17, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 71 years old.
Mary, daughter of the late Ena and Joseph Ward, will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her three daughters Cheryl, Kris (Brian Platz) and Lori (Mike Allibon), her grandchildren Rachel and Ben Platz and William and Robbie Allibon, her brother Terry Ward (Mary), her brother-in-law Ken Henning, several nieces and nephews and countless dear friends.
She was predeceased by her older siblings Paul Ward (Mary), Lenora Tessier (Maurice) and Clair Henning.
Mary loved big, loud, get-togethers with homemade food and lots of laughs. She loved to play cards and golf, she loved to dance and sing, and she loved to bake, especially with and for her grandchildren.
Mary was a single mother who loved her daughters fiercely, and through her hard work and selflessness was a tremendous role model. She gave us the gifts of independence and self-confidence.
We will miss her every day but happy memories of her will be a blessing.
Special thanks for the care given to Mary by the medical staff at Lakeridge Oshawa and Partners in Community Care, and especially to the many friends and family who helped during the last few challenging months by taking Mary to appointments, doing her shopping and generally being there for her and us during this challenging time.
