McKENZIE, Fredricka - (1939 - 2020) - Fredricka Agatha McKenzie, 81, of Pickering, ON passed away on September 28, 2020.
Fredricka was born on July 27, 1939 to Alfred and Violet Newman in Manchester, Jamaica; one of seven siblings.
In 1958, Fredricka married Lamuel McKenzie. A marriage that lasted 49 years until his passing.
They lived in many places on the island due to Lamuel's work and proceeded to make many good friends and memories in their travels until they settled in Kingston, Jamaica with their six children, Jo-Ann, Marilyn, Ingrid, Janice, Andrew and Richard.
Lamuel and Fredricka then made the ultimate move and immigrated to Toronto, Canada in August, 1977 for a better life for their children.
Fredricka dedicated her life to being an amazing and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Fredricka supported her husband and children through their careers and through the many difficulties of their lives.
She made it her mission to improve the lives of her children.
Fredricka's family was her passion and she filled her home with warmth and kindness, We will miss her greatly.
Fredricka was predeceased by her husband, father and her mother. She is survived by her six children, Jo-Anne, Marilyn, Ingrid, Janice, Andrew, Richard, eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and her sister Lucy.
