ARMISHAW, June Eleanor (nee Collins) - It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother June Armishaw on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the age of 87.

May she now rest, free of the dementia that besieged her for many years.

She is survived by her children, Rick (Nancy), Colleen McBrady (Tim), and David (Irene), her sister Shirley Faris, sister-in-law Evelyn, as well as her seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Carl and her brothers Kenneth, Cecil, and Howard.

June was born June 17, 1933 in North Bay, Ontario. While there, she attended school, taught Sunday school at the Baptist church, and eventually started work.

She was working as a clerk at the base when she met an RCAF aircraft mechanic, who “charmed her” (as she would say) into marriage (1955), and to many new places to call home.

June always managed to make a house into a home for her family, while being moved around from North Bay to Cold Lake, AB, Trenton, ON, Selkirk, MB, Barrie, ON, and Amherstburg, ON.

Carl passed in 1978 and June made her home in Oshawa where she remained until her passing.

Always willing to learn a new skill, June worked in many different professions throughout her life, finishing off her working life in sales at Sears department store.

When she was younger, she enjoyed both flower and vegetable gardening.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Hillsdale Estates for the years of compassionate care that you provided for Mom.

A private service for the immediate family will be held in the future as travel allows (due to the pandemic), with internment next to Carl in Guelph, ON.
