Russell AllenRUSSELL, Allen Johnston - (February 27, 1934 – October 15, 2020)

Departed to his heavenly home peacefully with his wife of 64 years by his side on October 15, 2020 at Lakeridge Health – Oshawa at 86 years of age.

Beloved husband of Mary.

Loving father of Kevin (Anna), Kathleen LePage (Rob), Beth Canam, (Kermit) and Jennifer Braker (Stephan). Doting grandfather to Sarah, Amy, Tyler, Laura, Arielle, Corrinne, Kendra, Gary, Michael and Chantelle.

Great grandfather to Jenny, MeghanRain, Pillar, Whisper, Charlotte, Daniel, Scotland, James and Alice. Survived by his siblings Ada Lenover (Del), Mary McBurney (Eric), Sister-in-law Margaret Gadal (Joe) and Audrey Ives (David).

Predeceased by his brother Stanley and his sisters Phyllis, Reita, Doris, Mildred, Marilyn, Geraldine and baby Violet Pearl, sisters-in-law Elizabeth and Mildred and his great granddaughter baby Immanuelle (Ellie) Willis.

Allen was in the Royal Canadian Air Force and then worked for International Business Machines for 32 years.

He was a member of the Charing Cross United Church men’s quartet, Horseless Carriagemen Barbershop Chorus, North Hastings Community Choir and Various other church choirs.

Allen also volunteered his time at the CNIB and North Hastings Community Care for over 5+ years, visiting, reading and recording the Bancroft Times for seniors.

Private family visitation will be held at COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1587 Highway #2, Courtice (905-432-8484).

COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS The Bereavement Authority of Ontario has mandated:

• Permitted gathering sizes inside a building for funeral visitation and chapel services, will be up to 30% of the maximum room capacities (excluding funeral staff) while maintaining the six foot physical distancing rule.

• To ensure safety and minimize potential spread of COVID-19. • Further to the Registrar’s Guidance issued on June 15, 2020, wearing masks or face coverings is mandatory for all persons (funeral staff and attendees) inside all funeral establishments or any other indoor setting where a funeral or visitation is held. The Funeral Home staff will be responsible for monitoring these numbers and will be collecting contact information from each visitor, as per the Health Authority’s guidelines.
