HARTFORD, Cecil Claude - It is with heavy hearts, that the family of Cecil Claude Hartford announces his passing.
Cecil passed peacefully at Glen Hill Strathaven on October 17, 2020 at the age of 87.
Cecil leaves behind his beloved wife of 51 years, Ruth Hartford (nee Saunders). Cherished Father to Douglas (Frances), Alan (Jennifer) and David (Tammy) Hartford.
Treasured Grandfather to Alec, Theo, Jumah, Matthew and Liam. Cecil leaves behind an extensive family of brothers and sisters (Leo, Rupert, Al, Bill, Lowell, Eunice, Jake, Mary, Maddie). Cecil was predeceased by his brothers Tim and Doug, sister Lenna and nephew David.
Cecil will forever be remembered for his loyalty and love of his family, his dedication and work ethic as a hydro lineman for 40 years and his simple pleasures in life.
Nothing gave him more joy than to be surrounded by those he loved and respected.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Glen Hill Strathaven for their care and kindness to Cecil.
Arrangements with Morris Funeral Chapel. In keeping with Cecil’s personality, the family welcomes anyone in attendance to please dress comfortably and casually.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
