BHATTI, Surinder Kaur (née Bhagwanti Janjua) - Born on August 20, 1931 and lived at Winbourne Park Long Term Care home in Ajax, ON.

Surinder was the devoted wife of Captain Lachhman Singh Bhatti, a loving mother of six children, a proud grandmother of 17 grandchildren, and a great-grandmother of five.

A lover of nature, especially flowers and animals, she touched everyone around her with profound love and affection.

Surinder passed away peacefully in the presence of her daughters Amarjit and Darshan on November 5, 2020, at 12:58 p.m.

Having lost her mother at an early age, Surinder was raised by her father, Numberdar Gurdit Singh, and her dear grandmother Pali Bhagwanti in Punjab, India.

She raised her six children while her husband was stationed with the Indian Army far from home for much of each year. In 1980, she moved to Canada with her husband where they lived in Edmonton for many years.

She spent her final years at Winbourne Park, where she received wonderful care.  To everyone at Winbourne Park, she was mamaji, their respected mother, and she called each of them beta, her dear one.  She was known for her healing touch and would often be asked to give blessings.

Surinder leaves behind her children, Amarjit, Manjit, Surjit, Bahadur, Rajinder, and Darshan and their respective families.

Deeply loved by her family, she will be missed by all.

Arrangements with Mount Lawn Funeral Home, Whitby, ON.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB Foundation).
