COTNOIR, Raymond - It is with a broken heart that Lisette Léveillé announces the passing of her love and life partner of 35 years, Raymond Cotnoir, on November 30, 2020.
Raymond was born on January 14, 1961 in Haileybury.
Raymond is survived by his brothers: Jacques, Gérard, Bernard (France Côté), René, Jean (Monique Perron), and his sisters: Diane, Madeleine, Violette, and Pauline. He will be missed by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Lorraine and François Gauthier, Gilbert and Marian Léveillé, Huguette Cloutier, Rénald Léveillé, Normand Léveillé and Simone Beaudry, Guylaine and Daniel Dallaire. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews: Annick, Eric, Marie-Soleil, Maïté, Émilie, Frédéric, Marc, Michelle, Terry, Mitchell, Jonathan, David, Norma, Mathew, and Maxim, including great nephews and nieces.
Raymond was predeceased by his parents: Marcel and Juliette Cotnoir, his parents in law Ildège and Thérèse Léveillé, his brothers-in-law Wilfrid Cloutier, André Léveillé, Lionel Léveillé and his niece Marie Cloutier.
After graduating from the Haileybury School of Mines, he started working at OPG at the Pickering Nuclear Station, until he retired after 35 years of service.
Throughout the year, he shared many good memories with his colleagues, both at work and at the local pub for a weekly ‘Thirst-day Cheers’.
Born with low vision, and restricted from driving, it did not stop him from enjoying cars. People would always be amazed that he could recognize a car’s model by make and year, with its shape, bumper or others features, no matter the distance separating him from the cars.
Raymond enjoyed many activities with his wife, from rollerblading to downhill skiing, walking and road cycling.
Raymond began his battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in 2018, followed by a bone marrow stem cell transplant.
On July 17, 2020, he rode his custom bike for a final 50 km ride after learning the leukemia relapsed.
Cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
To everyone who crossed paths with Raymond, extend a ‘Cheer’ for health, love and live life to the fullest.
