Marshall BessieMARSHALL, Bessie Amanda (nee Blackburn)

(April 26, 1920 - December 8, 2020)

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved “Granny Chick," Bessie Marshall.

She died of COVID-19 at SunnyCrest Nursing Home in Whitby.

Bessie loved people and people loved her, she was funny, always a smile, always kind.

She was a big Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan, and loved to have a good time.

Those hard-working hands could create the best food and warmest blankets... and can we talk about the hair and nails?... “perfection."

We adored her and she adored her family.

Children: Robert (Suzanne), both predeceased; Bonnie Squires (Donnie), both predeceased; and Beverley Kelly (Matt).  Grandchildren: Karen, Ryan, Erin, Amanda and Michael.  Great-Grandchildren: Jakson, Emily, Mya, Xzavier, Eli and Finley.

A perfect, beautiful soul. Never forgotten. Always loved.

We are heartbroken for what she endured.

To honour Bessie, please donate a moment of your time to write your government official to demand Long Term Care Reform.
