WITYSZYN, Peter - It is with a heavy heart and great sadness we announce the passing of Peter Wityszyn on December 26th, 2020, at Oshawa General Hospital, due to complications of a heart attack.

He was born to parents Peter and Justina Wityszyn (nee Sahaydak), in Montreal, on January 22nd, 1947.

Peter studied at MIT in Montreal and started his career at IBM from 1967 and worked there until his retirement in May of 2008.

Peter married his loving wife Rosemary on November 1st, 1969 and is also survived by his late brother Gerald (Theresa), sons Jason (Judy, Jordan and Joshua), David (Christie) and Sister in Law Maureen (John).

Peter had a love of travelling and motorcycles, which he was able to do both with family and friends, both new and old. He was an active member in the Durham Harley Owners Group and cherished the friends he made that shared his passion.

All who knew him remember his quick wit, quick sarcasm and his own unique loss of hearing when it wasn’t going his way.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, Peter will be cremated as per his wishes, and interred at MOUNT LAWN CEMETERY, 21  Garrard Road, Whitby, Ontario. With a small family gathering.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, once restrictions have been lifted or lessened.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (Durham Region) 420 Green Street, #105, Whitby, Ontario L1N 8R1.
