DUNN, James (Jim) Edward - Passed away peacefully on January 1, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.

Predeceased by his parents Mervin Dunn and Glennis Dunn.

Brother to Milton Pummell, (Valerie) Susie Balmer, Colleen Dunn-Ward (Chris) and Robert Dunn.

Loving Father to Kelly Braun (Rodney) and Jeffery Dunn.

Adoring Grandfather to Emily Braun, Cameron Braun, Ethan Dunn and Owen Dunn.

The love of Jim’s life (predeceased) was Stephanie Macdonald, mother to Adam Macdonald and Jamie-Leahy Papoutsis (nee Macdonald).

Born in Toronto, Jim went on to become a Carpenter and worked the majority of his life at the Darlington Nuclear Generator Station, where he retired as a Superintendent.

Jim was proud to be a lifetime member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners – Local 397, where he also sat as a board trustee.

Jim’s love of having fun never stopped him from lovingly and attentively raising his daughter Kelly. Eventually Jeffery (who Jim called Fejj) came to live with him as well. Jim’s generosity knew no bounds and he was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Jim’s final wishes were to come home from the hospital for Christmas. Once home, he was lovingly cared for by his daughter Kelly, who slept by his side and his son Jeffery, who also stayed home, pitched in and helped with the care.

Both Kelly and Jeff were with Jim when he peacefully passed away and left this world to go meet Stephanie on the other side.

Special thanks to Holly Mclellan for being there whenever we needed her. You helped to make Jim’s final days dignified and comfortable. Special thank you to Michelle, who always came immediately to assist with complex care.

Thank you to Dr. Osborne for coming to the house when we needed you the most and for doing the terribly difficult work that you do. You are proof that there are Angels among us.

Thank you to all of you who sent flowers and food, it was much appreciated and came in very handy when we were tired.

There will be no service, but there will be a celebration of life (hopefully) on his birthday in July.
