Butchard JohnBUTCHARD, John  – (January 16, 1951January 19, 2021)

It is with immeasurable sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Husband, Dad, and Grandad John Butchard.

John passed away suddenly at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, just a few days after his 70th Birthday.

John will be missed dearly by his loving wife Phyllis, his children John (Dawn), Jayne, Jamie (Jennifer), Stephen (Shannon), Debbie (Adam) & Paul (Rachel), and by his grandchildren Ava, Jack, Liam, Clare, Alfie, Toby, Emily, Ashleigh & Lola.

He is survived by his sisters, Margaret, Ann-Marie & Cecelia.

He will be missed by many family and friends near and far.

John will never be far from our hearts, and his laughter and love will continue to be with us every day, and will live in our hearts always. We will hear his laughter when we tell a joke, feel his joy when we watch Liverpool games, and we will celebrate him often, retelling all his stories.

John’s passion was his family and he made it known to everyone he came in contact with. Most importantly, he let us, his family, know each and every day what we meant to him.

The pain of having lost him is smaller than the joy of having had him in our lives, and those memories will comfort us as we move through this difficult time.

Please go home and tell a joke tonight. When you spend time with your family, raise a glass to John and remember to make sure to tell the people you love that you love them and that “Life is a Bowl of Cherries."

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Sick Kids Hospital, a place near and dear to John’s heart.

Due to Covid restrictions, the service will be immediate family only and will take place at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME .
