Hobbs RayhleenHOBBS, Rayleen Marie (nee Matthews) - (February 11, 1945 - January 23, 2021)

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Rayleen Marie Hobbs on January 23, 2021 at the age of 75 from Dementia and Alzheimer's.

Cherished daughter of the late Eva & Norman Aisbitt.

Beloved wife of Thomas William Hobbs.

Adored sister of Raymond (Ruth) Matthews, Llaina (Bill) Finigan, Donna (late Tim) Doherty.

Devoted and loving Mum of Kathleen (Jim) Kalpakis and Jeneen (Sean) Savela-McFaul.

Proud Grandma of Cameron Savela, Jessica McLane, Michaela & Josh McFaul, Andrea, Peter (Genna), Catherine Dixon, Owen and Emma Hobbs, Gracie, Myles and Finley Hobbs.

Dear Step-Mother of Stephen Hobbs, Karen Dixon, Peter Hobbs, Thomas (Tracy) Hobbs and Michael (Terra) Hobbs.

Originally from Springhill, Nova Scotia and moved to Montreal as a young teen, she completed Nurses College and then moved to Ajax, ON to raise her family.

Rayleen was a compassionate nurse who retired at the age of 48 where she and Tom built their dream home in Mallorytown, ON and travelled with friends.  They returned to the Durham Region later to be closer to family.

Always active in the Church, Rayleen's faith was a large part of who she was.  An avid gardener, Rayleen will be pictured by family and friends as roaming God's beautiful gardens.

She will be missed by many Nieces, Nephews, Friends and Neighbours.

Special thanks to Bowmanville Hospital and Bowmanville Creek Retirement Residence for their care and compassion.

Cremation has already taken place.

In lieu of flower, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region.

Online condolences may be left at  armstrongfh.ca .
