PLANETA, Rose - (July 27, 1934 – February 2, 2021)
Passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on February 2, 2021.
Rose was the beloved wife and life partner of Jim Planeta for 65 years- his soul mate and travel partner. They built a fulfilling and happy life together residing in the home they built together in Courtice for the past 48 tears.
She was a longtime member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Courtice.
Rose and Jim have two daughters Joanne (Raymond) from Hampton and Basia (Brett) from Texas.
She was always delighted by the antics of her grandchildren and found a lot of joy and pride in their lives and the people they became.
She will be missed by her grandchildren Mark (Lindsey), Greg (Becky), Briana (Michael), Meredith (Matt), Courtney and Evan. In later years she cherished her eight great grandchildren.
Rose was a Registered Nurse at Oshawa General Hospital in labour and delivery for 40 years, bringing new life to the world which she loved.
She loved to garden at their home and was very artistic. She especially enjoyed her knitting group at the church, knitting items for various causes. She loved their cottage on Papineau Lake and seeing the joy we all got from it.
Her large and loving family was very important to her and all her nieces and nephews. She will always be remembered for her caring and compassion to all in her life.
Visitation will be held at COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1587 Highway #2, Courtice (905-432-8484) on Sunday, February 7th, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Private Family Service will be held on Monday, February 8th at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Refuge Youth Outreach Centre Oshawa or St. Vincent’s Kitchen Oshawa.
