RHOADS, Dale Charles - (1932 - 2021) - It is with great sadness that we announce the quiet passing of Dale Charles Rhoads, March 3, 2021 at 12:40pm.
He will be reunited with his loving wife Margaret (1981).
Dale passed away after a 3 year struggle with cancer and failing health at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa in the presence of his daughter Cheryl and grandson Matthew.
Dale Rhoads was so proud of his family.
Survived by his loving partner Sheila Burge; daughter Cheryl Anne Van Waterschoot (Rick Van Waterschoot) and son Frederick Whiteford Rhoads (Barbara) (nee Malarz); Granddaughters Margaret Van Waterschoot (Michael Dzus), Lauren Rhoads and Grandson Matthew Van Waterschoot (Danielle Paris) and, Great Granddaughter Elizabeth Van Waterschoot and Great Grandson, Michael Dzus Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews. Dale will be remembered by the Burge Family.
Dale Charles Rhoads was born in Windsor on Feb 7, 1932 to Frederick and Mary (Dorothy) Rhoads (nee Dornton); Loving brother of Janice Thompson (late Robert), and predeceased by brothers Bev Rhoads (late Norah) and Paul Rhoads. Brother in law of Gail Rhoads.
Dale moved the family to Detroit, Michigan where he spent his career in sales with General Electric.
He had gathered many friends, spanning generations, many of whom felt like he was a second father, a second grandfather, or a brother. It is a true testament to his legacy. He was a beacon of light and hope to his family and will be truly missed.
In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
