Lacey DonaldLACEY, Donald - (February 17, 1946 – March 4, 2021)

On Thursday, March 4, 2021, Don passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa at the age of 75.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Sandy (nee Sheppard) and will be remembered as a loving father and best friend to Kevin (Erika), and a cherished Grandpa to Mackenzie and Bronwyn.

Don was a dear brother to Richard (Deborah Beaudoin) and the late Ronald and was predeceased by his sister-in-law Elizabeth.

He was a dedicated son to Gwendolyn and was predeceased by his father Richard.

Don will be missed by his partner Mary Zolis and her children Jennifer (Matt), Jessica (Andy), Jordan and granddaughter Adaline.

‘Uncle Don’ will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews and godchildren along with so many extended family and friends.

Don was an avid student whose university studies continued through until his passing. He leveraged his knowledge not only to support a successful career, but also to provide support as a patient advocate for Sandy and for so many others.

Don was as comfortable in the gym as he was in the classroom. His fitness allowed for the completion of several 10k and Half Marathon races and supported his affinity for biking.

Don travelled extensively both for business and for pleasure, and was fortunate to have shared those experiences with his family and friends. Many of those same family and friends think of laughing about the day’s events with Don and a glass of wine by the BBQ at home, or on the balcony in Clearwater.

A small, private Celebration of Life service will be held at the COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1587 Highway #2, Courtice (905-432-8484). *Due to COVID restrictions, attendance has been limited to a very small list that has been confirmed with those individuals.

The family would ask that you view the service via Live Stream https://funeraweb.tv/en/diffusions/25798 remotely on-line on Saturday, March 20th at 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Oley Foundation (www.oley.org) or the Heart and Stroke (www.heartandstroke.ca ) Foundations would be appreciated.
