Menzies WilliamMENZIES, William James 'Bill' - (June 9th, 1945 - March 23rd, 2021))

Bill, our modern renaissance man. A chemistry teacher by profession, he excelled in many areas unrelated to teaching.

Golf he came by genetically as his dad, Jack, was a fine golfer.

Music was another area of skill. He joined a parent band at his son’s school and learned to play the bari saxophone. (Fortunately the band needed a bass guitar player so the saxophone gig was brief.)

He taught himself how to play classical style guitar, folk guitar, blues guitar, took on the banjo, then started crafting cigar box guitars.

Bill even learned to prepare gourmet food with flair rather than as a rigidly controlled science experiment.

There are countless wooden decoys that he hand carved to give as gifts.  He thoroughly enjoyed birdwatching wherever he travelled.

And the ultimate, skill with a brand-new designer camera and an endless supply of waterfalls in central Ontario which he visited weekly, bombing around in his Mazda 3.

Such a lot of talent for one lifetime.

Love always from your best friend and wife, Karen.  More love from your biggest fan and son, Stuart and his wife, Kristy.  Sloppy kisses and sticky hugs from your granddaughters, Claire and Grace.  Siblings John and Bette, their spouses, Ellen and Rob, hold you very dear. Adieu.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the Canadian Red Cross.

We also encourage you to become a donor to Canadian Blood Services, if you are able.
