Allen GeraldALLEN, Gerald Eugene Allen  -  August 4, 1950 – March 29, 2021

It is with deep sadness and never-ending love to announce the passing of Gerald Eugene Allen.

Gerald passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his children, on Monday, March 29th, 2021 at the age of 70 years.

He is survived by his children Jennifer (Joe), Kelly (Trevor), Lindsay (Josh) and Michael (Esther) and Shirley Allen (loving mother of his children).

Loving and devoted grandpa of James, Emma, Lauren, Katelyn, Sarah, Harper and Sophie.

Affectionately and forever remembered as ‘Papa Gerald’.

Gerald grew up on a farm in Blackfoot, Alberta with his mother (Emma), father (Earl) and his brothers Fred, Wilmer, Johnny, Stanley, David, Harvey and his cherished sisters, May and Anna.

He moved to Toronto in 1968 and in 1975 settled in Oshawa, where he made his home and raised his family.

Gerald will always be remembered for his uncanny ability to solve any problem you had, his love for family dinners, chocolate and his hobbies including making quilts for all of his children and grandchildren.

Most of all, he will be remembered for the deep love he had for his children and family, and always being the father you could count on.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to his palliative Nurse Valerie, his PSW Katelyn and the staff from Lakeridge Health Oshawa palliative care unit.

As well to all the friends and extended family who have supported us through this difficult journey.
