Harrison JohnHARRISON, John Joseph (Johnny) - (May 23, 1929 – April 6, 2021)

Johnny passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by his loving family, on April the 6th, 2021 in his 92nd year.

Beloved husband of Jean Harrison (nee McNaughton) for over 60 years.

Loved father of George (Bambi) of Brockville, Anne Dobos (Mike) of Port Hope, Margaret Bland (Craig) of Abbotsford, BC and John (Carrie) of Oshawa.

Survived by his brother, Ranald (Lilian) of Thorold, and sister, Verna Riordan (late Peter), of Oshawa, brother-in-law, Roger Wood of Ottawa and sister-in-law Maria Harrison (nee Papps) of Maxville.

Predeceased by his parents, Angus and Josephine (nee Lee) Harrison and loving siblings Hazel, Jimmy (Inez), Charlie (Marie), Lee, Margaret McDaniel (Pat), Betty Wood, George and Bob.

He will be missed dearly by his ten grandchildren Jessica (Dan), Emily, Hannah (Stephen), Laura, Katie (Kelton), Harrison, Isaac (Sophia), Marshall, Samuel and Gracie, and two great-grandchildren Willa-Rose and Max.

He had a special gift for remembering infinite details about his upbringing at MacMillan’s Corners, Ontario, and his ability to retell stories contributes to the legacy he leaves behind. He loved reminiscing and shared these stories with anyone who would lend an ear.

He could relay geographical facts about Oshawa from his early days here, in the late 1940s, and his ability to remember dates, times, places and people was unmatched.

A huge thank you to all who made his last few days peaceful, especially his nurse extraordinaire, daughter-in-law Carrie, and his fabulous PSW Alma.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME will be determined at a later date, due to COVID.

If you wish to make a memorial donation, they can be made to Diabetes Canada (diabetes.ca).
