Da ROCHA, Lazaro Jose - (December 7th, 1935 - April 22nd, 2021)
It is with great sorrow that the family of Lazaro Da Rocha announces his passing on Thursday April 22nd, 2021, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 85.
Lazaro was a devoted husband to Manuela Da Rocha for 60 years, and a loving and loved father to Nellie Brennan and her husband James of Oshawa and Lazaro Da Rocha of Waterloo.
Cherished grandfather of Emma, Matthew, Rachel, and Michael.
Dear brother of Teresa Da Rocha of Flores, Azores.
Predeceased by his loving parents Maria de Freitas and Casimir Silveria Da Rocha of Santa Cruz, Flores, Azores and brothers John and Constantino.
He will be greatly missed by his close friends Isabel and John Bonifacio, and Rosalina and Mario Faria.
Lazaro brought his wife and young family to Canada from the Azores in 1968, and worked hard to build a new life for them.
An avid soccer fan, Lazaro spent many years cheering on his favourite team Sport Lisboa e Benfica.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Village of Taunton Mills for the care they provided to Lazaro the past two years.
A Celebration of Life will be held for friends and family once pandemic restrictions ease.
In memory of Lazaro memorial donations to the Charles H. Best Diabetes Centre would be appreciated.
