Baker JamesBAKER, James R. Baker   - February 8, 1958 – May 17, 2021

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of James (Jim) Baker, after a long, hard battle with stomach cancer on May 17, 2021.

Jim passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

Beloved husband to May "Babe" for 41 years.

Amazing Dad to Melissa (Mike), Ashlea, Tyler (Felicia), Jesse and Wesley. Adored Papa to Jack and Logan, Reese and Wyatt, Shea and Beau.

Survived by his Mom, Eileen Megill and pre-deceased by his Father, Reginald Baker.

Loving Brother to Paula and Marion (Stan).

Cherished Son-in-law to Rose Rowley and Brother-in-law to Jo-Anne (Jim), Rosanne (Lewis) and Christine.

Jim will also be greatly missed by his Nieces, Nephews, extended family and friends.  Jim was born February 8th, 1958 in Newmarket, Ontario.

At a young age, Jim found an interest which later became his passion as a flooring mechanic. His talents for floor installation spread widely and he became the communities most requested installer.

He went on to establish Tak-Masters and Sub-contracted through Ritson Tile and Carpet in Oshawa.

Jim had an impact on all that he coached and was an incredible mentor to all. Jim was passionate about taking his family camping and he made it a yearly tradition.

He found tranquility in the outdoors and was one with nature. Watching his grandchildren grow up meant the world to him. He loved them so much and they always had a special place in his heart.

A drive past visitation will take place on Saturday May 22, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at THE COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (1587 Hwy # 2, Courtice).

Please enter the parking lot at the Sandringham entrance. There will be staff in the parking lot to direct you from there.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions we ask that everyone remain in their vehicles at all times and have their masks on.

Due to these unprecedented times, a private funeral service will be held for the immediate family only on Saturday May 22, 2021. If you would like to view the livestream of Jim's service, please visit the following link at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday May 22nd: https://funeraweb.tv/en/diffusions/30168
