Gallagher BrianGALLAGHER, Brian Michael  – September 29th, 1933 - May 27th, 2021

At the age of 87, after 61 amazing years of marriage, Brian Michael Gallagher entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 27, 2021 with his one and only "loves you truly I dooly," love of his life Anne at his side.

Brian was born in Montreal on September 29, 1933 - eldest child of Sylvia Quilty and William Gallagher.

Brian graduated from Loyola University with a degree in business followed by a successful career in accounting and purchasing with Dupont, Canada.

Brian was an extraordinary-ordinary man.  Career and monetary accomplishments were secondary - family was, without exception, his top priority.

Invariably the loudest cheerleader on the sidelines or behind the bench of his children's sports teams and always their biggest supporter throughout life.

Brian took great pride in each of them.

In retirement, Brian enjoyed travelling with Anne throughout Canada, the U.S. and Europe, acquiring many new friends along the way with his indelible charm and humour.

Brian enjoyed time on the links with his sons, grandsons and friends.

Often playing with his own set of rules and notorious for his Arnie Palmer attire.  A cold beer or gin and tonic were never far away at the end of play.

An active parishioner at St. John's the Evangelist Church in Whitby, Brian served as an usher for many years and was a member of the original adult altar server group.

It was Brian's wish to palliate in the comfort of his home, surrounded by the warmth and love of his wife and family. Frequent deliveries of apple fritters, burgers and fries, chicken wings and an endless supply of ice cream were always close at hand.  Brian is survived by his loving wife Anne.

Children: Michael (Lavinia), Stephen (Andree), Joanne (Angelo) and David (Melissa). Precious grandchildren: Caitlin, Devyn (Matt), Maggie, Pamela, Adam, Kyra, Keliem, Cameron (Erin), Clayton, Cassidy, Steven, Ceilidh and Quinn.  Sister Sharon Bertrand (the late Jacques) and brothers- in- law James Mather (Jean) and Donald Mather (Linda).

Predeceased by grandbabies Noah and Grayson and sister Mary Catherine Ritza.

Brian battled kidney disease with great determination and persistence for many years and we would like to extend special thanks to the Kidney Care Clinic in Whitby.

Our deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to our palliative care team, most particularly Sharon, Stacey and Wendy.

Your guidance, compassion and perhaps most importantly, your sense of humour in caring for Brian was so greatly appreciated.  We love you all.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the MS Society of Canada or the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto.
