LAVOIE, Michael “Mike” - Lavoie passed away peacefully on May 31, 2021 at the age of 74 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa from a short battle with lung cancer.
Mike was born in London, England on April 29, 1947 and immigrated to Quebec, Canada in 1955.
It was there where his love for hockey began and a die-hard Montreal Canadiens “Habs” fan was born.
Mike met the love of his life Lynda at a house party and they have been inseparable ever since, happily married for 46 years.
Together, they had two children Warren and Erin (Oliver). He is affectionately known as “The Nose knows”.
Mike was also a loving grandfather to his three grandchildren, Olivia, Noah, and Naomi.
Whenever he had an opportunity, he loved to goof around, tease them and was always a big kid at heart. His quiet, but fun-loving energy, will be sorely missed.
Mike will be fondly remembered by his sisters Suzanne (Frank in memorium) and Sue (Peter in memorium).
He is predeceased by his brother Paul (Francine), mother Rose, and father Paul.
He will be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and has left an indelible impression on all our lives.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 in Whitby, ON. (Due to COVID-19, only the immediate family will be present).
A Celebration of Life will be organized at a later date.
