McMASTER, R. Russel - In loving memory of Russel McMaster who passed away at home in Uxbridge, On, on June 14, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

Russ is survived by the love of his life, Linda (nee Cecchetto) married for over 54 years.

He was the cherished father to LouAnne (Steve), Rhonda and Kim (Lance) and much loved Nono, to Brooklynn, Kevin, Vanessa, Owen, Carson, Jade and Ethan.

Born on May 11, 1942 in Sudbury to loving hard-working parents, predeceased, Theresa (nee Skuta) of Thunder Bay and Harold McMaster of Gananoque, Russ is survived by his brother Edward (Bev) of Calgary, along with his children Steven and Cherie (and their mother Judy).

Growing up Russ had a passion for sports, taking a lead role of player coach for the Nickel Belt Cement basketball team, defensive player for Sudbury Hardrocks football team and earning a football scholarship with Michigan Technology University.

His athletic abilities earned him many MVP awards throughout his youth but most important to Russ was the strong bonds and life long friendships forged during that time of his life.

In keeping with Russ’ wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Russ’ name to Sunnybrook Foundation, Ophthalmology and Vision Science Department or a CHARITY of your choice.
