Otani PaulaOTANI, Paula Anne - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paula Anne Otani (née Essensa), in her 71st year at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on July 13, 2021.

Paula will be dearly missed by her devoted husband, Karl and her loving daughter Megan Karper.

Paula was predeceased by her dear father, Frank Essensa.

She is survived and cherished by her Mother, Eleanor Essensa, her sisters Kathy Essensa Forest (Bill), Gloria Essensa Hoben ( Glen), and Carolyn Essensa Hawthorne.

Paula will be greatly missed by her sister-in-law Suzuyo Fox (John), brother-in-law, George Otani (Barbara) and sister-in-law, Karen Aiken (Larry).

Paula will be lovingly remembered for her kind heart, sense of humour and gentle soul by her many nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Paula made friends easily during her life. Friends Paula worked with describe Paula as loyal, a great listener, compassionate, easy to talk to, trustworthy, spiritual and kind.

Paula's friend and golf buddy described Paula as her big sister, a golf teacher/mentor, a great leader/organizer, a confidante, a friend to laugh with and a shoulder to cry on, a generous and kind soul who always put others first.

During her retirement years, Paula volunteered her time coaching single mothers as a volunteer worker with the Durham Children's Aid Society
