GODIN, Armand Joseph - September 19th, 1932 - July 15th, 2021
Passed away on Thursday July 15th, 2021 at the age of 88, with his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Claudette Godin (née Savoie) by his side, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
Adored and much loved father of Anne (Danio), Donald and Claude (Sabine).
Cherished Pépère of Patrick, Mathieu, Jasper and Cassie.
Predeceased by his parents Gustave & Alma and his siblings Phoébé, Nicholas, Michel, Albert, Roméo and Gérald.
Armand leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Dianne, Albert, Cora and René, as well as many family and friends.
Armand was from the Acadian Peninsula of New Brunswick and was very proud of his Acadian roots.
He came to Oshawa as a young man in 1951.
Armand was a pioneer in the French community.
Was on the executive committee of the Acadian Club.
Worked for General Motors of Canada for 40 years.
He was an avid golfer, loved the outdoors and travelling.
Armand was a man of great faith. He was a wonderful, gentle, caring, generous man with a welcoming smile. We will miss his sense of humour and the twinkle in his eyes.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday July 20th from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm. Parish Prayers will be held at 6pm.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday July 21st at 11am, Assomption de Notre Dame Church.
