PATERSON, James 'Jim' - (1953 - 2021) - We are saddened to share the passing of Jim Paterson on August 16, 2021 at the age of 68.

Jim lived with cancer for three years.

Beloved husband to Sylvia for 43 years.

Devoted father to Adam (Sarah) and Shawna (Jake).

Proud grand-dad to Logan and grand-puppy Mylo.

Jim was born in Belfast, Ireland to Andrew and Georgina Paterson. He was raised in Scotland and moved to Canada at the age of 14, where his family settled in Toronto.

Jim was employed with the City of Toronto for 37 years as a civil engineering technologist, before he enjoyed a quiet retirement for 11 years.

Jim had a fondness for small pets and he lovingly cared for his buddy Dannyboy, an amazon parrot, for 37 years.

Jim loved to be out on the water in his boat, often with a fishing rod in his hand, testing out the many fishing lures he collected over the years. He enjoyed traveling with family and friends throughout Hawaii, the South Pacific, the fjords of Norway and many Caribbean destinations in between.

Jim was a kind-hearted gentleman, and a man of few words. He was loved by many and will forever live in our hearts.

Graveside service to start at 1:00 p.m. on Monday August 23rd at Duffin Meadows Cemetery, Pickering, with an outside reception afterwards at 2:00 p.m. at 8 Farrow Crescent, Ajax.
