BLAND, Donald James Bland  - 1937 - 2021  It is with profound sorrow that we announce on Saturday, September 11, 2021, with his loving wife, his children and his sister by his side, Don Bland passed away.

Don was born on December 26, 1937 to James and Alma (née Fraser) Bland in Toronto, Ontario.

He is survived by his wife Marlene, his sister Bev (Bruce), his children Kirsten (Mick) and Brent (Dayna), grandchildren Bronson, Anderson and Harrison and many nieces and nephews.

Don was a prominent Real Estate Broker and throughout the years, he sponsored many of the town’s local baseball teams and was an active community member, chairing Ajax Homeweek and was a founding member of the Optimist Club of Ajax.

For many years, he and his son Brent ran the local Dickie Dee and spread joy through the town with ice cream from a bike.  In his later years, Don became a member of the Toronto Hydroplane and Sailing Club, met his future wife Marlene, and became a well-respected Commodore.

Don will be remembered for his sharp wit, his practical jokes, sarcastic sense of humour, his kindness and generosity.

He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

The family will receive guests at the McEachnie Funeral, Ajax Ontario on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
