van GINHOVEN, Pieter Johannes – We are very sad to announce the passing of our loving father, Pieter Johannes van Ginhoven, on October 4, 2021 in his 98th year.
Pieter was born in Holland on June 6, 1924 the second of six children to Huibert and Carolina van Ginhoven.
Loving husband of the late Lamkje for 69 years.
Loving father to Hubert (Linda) van Ginhoven, John (Mary) (the late Wilma) van Ginhoven, the late Carol (Bob) McCelland, Gay (Jake) Lootsma and Yolanda (the late James) Lloyd.
Proud Opa of Steve (Shelley), Mike (Donna), Michael (Megan), Tracy (Randy), Julie, Alison, Crystal (Phillip), Lisa (Juan), Sharon (John), John (Lauren), Andrea (Graham), Bryan (Laura), Donna (Brandon) and Melissa (Ryan). Dear brother of Martin (Truus), Kees (Ingeborg) and the late Huibert, Carolina and Ab.
Pieter cherished his many great-grandchildren and will be missed by his extended family and friends.
Special thanks to the staff of Glen Hill Strathaven, Cedar Unit, for their exceptional care, compassion and respect given to our Dad.
Visitation will be held at W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL , 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby, on Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 4 – 7pm. Private family service and interment at Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert.
