Greer LovinaGREER, Lovina (neé Elliot) - (February 7, 1923 - October 2, 2021)

Passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, October 2nd, 2021 at the age of 98.

Predeceased by her husband Ken (1971), her seven sisters, her daughter Carol, and her granddaughter Nicole.

Much loved mother of Betty (Neil), Linda (Kenny), Janet (Doug).

Cherished by her seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A longtime resident of Brooklin, she lived on Queen St. since 1945.

Along with raising her children she helped out at Brooklin Hardware, which Ken owned for 26 years.

Lovie was famous for her strawberry jam and peach pie. An avid gardener, she loved nothing more than sitting on her swing in the garden, with a cup of tea, and spending summers with her sisters at their cabin outside Stratton, Ontario.

She will be missed by her entire family and everyone she met along the way.

The family would like to thank the staff at Fairview Lodge for the excellent care, friendship and compassion shown to our mother during the last two years.

As per Lovina’s wishes there will be a private family gathering at a later date.

Donations in memory of Lovie may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society of Durham Region.
