JUSTUS-SHUTE, Myrtle Russell Justus-Shute   -  April 2, 1927 - October 19, 2021

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on October 19, 2021 at the age of 94.

Beloved wife of the late Hugh Moore Shute.

Mother to John, his wife Nancy, Bill, his Jean and Ron.

Grandmother to Kath (Kevin), Kelly (Tony), Robert (Shelby), Melissa, Brian (Carine), Shannon (AJ) and Hughie.

Step Grandmother to Jen(Dave) and Steve (Shauna).

Great grandmother to Sheridan, Makenna, Brooke, Ammy, Riley, Taryn, Aubrey, Aiden, Colton, Fin and Grayson. Step Great grandmother to Amy, Julia, Adam, Kenzie and Mason.

Myrtle immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1957 from Belfast, Northern Ireland following her husband Hugh who immigrated in late 1956.

At the young age of 30, she travelled here with three young sons. Myrtle and Hugh felt that Canada would provide better opportunities for their kids.

Retiring at an early age in 1983 she did volunteer work for the hospital and then the church. This included active participation in a group called the 3C’s who provided coffee, tea and baked goods following the Sunday Church service and they also made hats scarves and mats for children in less privileged countries.

Myrtle will be missed by her family and friends. Special thanks to the staff of Abbeylawn Retirement Home, Centenary Hospital and Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their loving and tender care.
