Webster Dr DesmondWEBSTER, Dr. Desmond Maurice Webster  (MB, BS, FRCP)  -   Peacefully on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021 with his family at his side.

Des passed away at the age of 95.

Beloved husband of Susan.

Loving father of Barbara Dillon (Kevin) of Oshawa, Judy Willette (Jeff) of Whitby, Stephen Webster (Kathy Buckworth) of Mississauga, Kevin Webster (Diane Miles) of Kingston.

Dear grandfather of Marcus (Jess), Katie (David), Eric (Brianna), Ian, Graham, Amy, Sydney, Maggie, Victoria (Braden), Alexander, Bridget, Nicholas and great grandfather to Owen, Olivia and Cam.

Predeceased by his siblings John, Dick and Pat.

Des was born in British India and journeyed to England during the war to study medicine at Middlesex Hospital.

He moved to Canada in 1955 to specialize in Psychiatry at McGill.

Desmond met his wife Susan in Montreal.

They were married on April 4, 1958 and had four children.

Des and Susan settled in Oshawa in 1967 where Des worked as a Psychiatrist in Private Practice, as Director of Psychiatry at the Oshawa General and then the Whitby Psychiatric Hospital before retiring in 1994.

Family was Des’s top priority including weekend hikes in the countryside, skating or swimming at the Novotny’s farm, annual summer visits to Tadoussac and holiday celebrations.

All enjoyed the stories Des would share from his childhood growing up in India that seemed like a world away.

A private memorial service (due to Covid restrictions) will be held at Christ Memorial Church with interment of cremated remains at St. George’s Anglican Church Cemetery.

Donations in memory of Des to CNIB or the Charles H. Best Diabetes Centre would be appreciated.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558).

Online condolences may be sent to makfuneralhome.com.
