Brudek MargaretBRUDEK,  Margaret "Peggy" Brudek   -  December 13, 1926 – November 3, 2021

Our precious Mom Peggy passed away on November 3, 2021 in her 95th year.

Mom arrived in Canada from Kilmarnock-Ayrshire, Scotland in 1928 on the SS Letitia with her Mother Jean Hurst, her siblings John, Irene and Bill.

Her Father Joc was in Canada securing employment for the arrival of his family.

Peggy met her beloved Mitch at the Avalon Dance Hall in 1945 and marriage followed in 1948 celebrated to the sound of the bagpipes.

Mom and Dad created a home filled with love, laughter, song, and always ongoing support for their children John (Teresa), Janice (Rick) and Lori (Gary).

Our wonderful Dad, the love of our Mom’s life, passed away in 1996.

Our Mom continued to live in the family home up until August 12th of this year. Her 95 years were blessed with good health, which she did not take for granted, and thru her faith was thankful for that each and every day.

Mom was blessed with three wonderful grandchildren, Ashley (Laurence), Rachel (Rob), Chad, and also three great grandchildren Evelyn, Hannah, Andi, and a wee one on the way.

To Mom children were always a gift from God and she never let the children forget that, always showing them love every chance she had. Peggy always enjoyed a good road trip.

Some of her favourite memories were the train trip to the East Coast, the family ski trip to BC, and the many cottage trips to Redstone and Crystal Lake. You could find her swimming in the lakes even into her 80’s.

She was also a huge fan of going on shopping trips to Buffalo with the girls. Always a good time! Mom was able to celebrate her 90th birthday in south Florida with the family, and was even looking forward to going there again this year for her 95th. Always young at heart, and as an extended family member stated, a Fun Gal! Mom always lit up a room with her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and great sense of humour.

Birthday celebrations and holidays were always special to Mom. She made them extra fun…always encouraging a game, or card playing.

She would be the last at the table enjoying euchre or cribbage (always for money…just to make it a little more interesting as she would say). Mom appreciated music and was always singing a wee tune with her beautiful voice.

It was also important to Mom that the less fortunate be looked after.

The Covenant House was always supported by Mom. Even the birds and animals in her neighbourhood were taken care of as she made sure they always had something to eat. We are certainly going to miss our beautiful Mom.

We have such great memories of love and laughter that we will cherish in our hearts forever, and look forward to continue sharing them with the young ones in the future.

Private family Interment has taken place at Resurrection Cemetery.

Celebration of life to be held at a later date.

We will never forget you Mom, and please give Dad a hug from all of us.
