OBITUARIES  ...for the DURHAM REGION

 

 

 

 

  

 

 

 

 

 

 

BOYD, Mildred Jean - Peacefully but suddenly at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the age of 96.

Predeceased by her loving husband James "Jim" and her parents Jimmy and Rosie Anderson and brother in law Ralph Ingram.

Survived by her sister Dorothy Ingram, niece Lisa, Mike, Sabie, Emma, Will and Hudson Crowder, nephew Brian, Shelly, Sage and Summer Ingram and loving and caring friend Dianne Blandford.

She will also be sadly missed by her other family and friends. 

Born in Brockville General Hospital on September 18, 1925. Jean was educated in a one room school house. On December 7, 1941 (a day of infamy) Jean moved with her family to Oshawa and began a job at Duplate Canada Inc.

Married Jim on May 12, 1950 at Centre Street United Church, Oshawa and also began a 30-year career as a Services Rep with Bank of Montreal. She retired in 1980. J

ean enjoyed traveling, knitting, bingo and dining out and enjoying life with her family and friends.

She moved into Faith Place Senior Residence in 2010 where she resided until she moved into Glen Hill Terrace in August 2021. 

Visitation will be held at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, Whitby on Friday, December 3rd from 12pm until the time of the service in the Chapel at 1pm.

Interment to follow at  MOUNT LAWN CEMETERY .

Social distancing will be enforced and masks are mandatory to be worn. No vaccination proof is required but contact tracing will be taken at the door.
