LAMERS, Walter - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Walter at Extendicare Oshawa on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at the age of 84.
He was born on May 12, 1937 in Escharen N.B., Holland.
Walter enjoyed sharing his love of gardening with family and friends.
Beloved father of Cynthia Kicinko (Michael), Sonya Hill (Bruce), Lisa Buchanan (Rev. Iain Buchanan).
Cherished grandfather of Lynn Stephenson (Richard), Ryan Hughes (Rahel Mashruky), Katy Burtinsky, Dr. Adam Hill (Alicia DeFilippo), Andrew Buchanan (Ashlee), Dr. Matthew Buchanan.
Dear greatgrandfather of Austin Buchanan and Avery Buchanan. Brother of Thea Reynen (late Lambert), late Henk Lamers (Ann), late John Lamers (late Mia), late Ben Lamers (late Mia), late Herb Lamers (late Nell), Corrie VanDeVossenberg (Adrian), Tony Lamers (Jackie), Annie Tarabocchia (Lawrence), Nelly Lamers, Martin Lamers (Marion), Betsy Dupuis (Omer).
Survived by many nieces and nephews. Will be remembered by many friends and extended family. A heartfelt thankyou to the exceptional staff at Extendicare Oshawa.
Friends may call at the Mount Lawn Funeral Home, Whitby on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 3-5 & 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. until time of Service in the Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Cremation to follow. Due to Covid restrictions the following protocols are in place: Proof of double vaccination, government photo ID, wearing of face coverings, social distancing, limited seating, booking of time to attend visitation by contacting funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to War Amps would be appreciated.
