ROONEY, John Rooney - 1934 - 2022 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John “Jackie” Rooney at the age of 87, on January 10, 2022.
Beloved husband to Sheila for 64 years.
Cherished father of Anthony (Gerri), Barry, Julie (Mark) and Aisling (Scott).
Proud “Popeye” of Lucas (Leah), Caitlin (Josh), Sean, Stephanie and Eric. Adoring “GG” to Rory.
Dear brother of Nora. He arrived in Canada from Dublin, Ireland in 1957 and fell in love with his new home.
He was always the biggest, and loudest, fan in the stands at our games and competitions.
Visitation will take place on Monday January 17 at 11 a.m. Funeral mass at St Bernadette’s at 1 p.m. Interment at Resurrection 2:30 p.m.
The family will receive guests at the McEachnie Funeral Home, Ajax Ontario, on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. If you wish to attend, registration required by contacting the the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Bernadette's Roman Catholic Church (21 Bayly St. E., Ajax Ontario L1S 1P2) on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with the burial to follow.
