Rodmell RobertRODMELL, Robert Gordon Rodmell   -  February 20, 1950 – January 21, 2022 

Bob, in his 72nd year, was called to his heavenly home on January 21, 2022 at 5:45 pm, with his wife, Sylvia (nee Macko) by his side, with special support from Pastor Hetzel and Joanne Yourkevich. 

Dearly loved by his wife of 34 years, he, also leaves behind his cherished children Matthew (Cathy), Andrew (Danielle), and Natasha (Taylor); proud Grandpa to Kensie and Kailin.

Much loved brother to Leonard (Frances), Douglas (Lynn), and Paula (David).

Will be missed by nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Predeceased by parents, Douglas Sr. and Shirley, and sister, Robyn.

Bob was a peacemaker, gentle spirited, generous of his time and talents, fun loving, adventurous, ready to take on new experiences, lend an ear, offer words of comfort, a true and dependable friend to many.

Bob was a faithful servant of the Lord, member of Grace Lutheran Church in capacities of Elder, stewardship, hospital chaplain and his extra skills he used to help maintain the functions of the building. He was a 53 year member of UA Local 46 as a Steamfitter, retiring from the University of Toronto. 

He volunteered at St. Vincent’s Kitchen, Heavenbound Ministries as the Chief Ship Engineer.

A seabound program for trouble teens.

His keen interest in aviation evolved in to building model remote-control airplanes.

Bob loved to travel internationally and participate in seniors’ slo-pitch baseball. He inspired many to learn the sport of pickleball and organized the Courtice Pickleball Club. 

Thank you to all who supported Sylvia in her time of need, you know who you are.

A private family funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.

In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, Oshawa or St. Vincent’s Kitchen
