Meraw HelenMERAW, Helen Frances   -   Helen Frances Meraw passed away peacefully on February 2, 2022, in her 90th year in Oshawa where she lived all her life.

She was loved and cherished by many people including:  her beloved husband Gilbert, of 67 years; children Catherine (Rick), Robert Paul, Thomas (Corinne) and Michelle (Bob); eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Helen was born and raised in Oshawa to Andrew and Lydia Pietrzyk.

Her siblings, Sophie (deceased), Irene, Lucy, Janice, and Andrew were always a wonderful part of her life, sharing laughter and many happy times.

She was proud of her Polish heritage and would pass on many of the traditions of food and culture to her children and grandchildren.

Helen was a kind and gentle soul who lived a full life both at home and at the cottage.

She will be fondly remembered by family, friends and neighbours tending to her beautiful gardens that were truly a labour of love for her.

Anyone who stopped by was invited into her home where they were treated to a slice of delicious homemade apple pie and a cup of tea.

Helen will be dearly missed by her friends and family, particularly those friends that she made during her 26 years at the Durham Catholic District School Board.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday February 10th, 2022 at 10:30 am at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church (1100 Mary St. N., Oshawa).  As attendance is limited, please click on the link below to sign up to attend:
