JONES, Dalton Stanley - January 3, 1945 – April 13, 2022
Passed away peacefully, with dignity and in the company of loved ones on April 13, 2022.
Cherished husband to Arnella and beloved father of Kevin (Irma), LeVar (Emily) and Darnelle (Meghan), Dalton is also survived by his grandchildren; Mylo and Theo, remaining siblings; Gloria, Dorothy, Cynthia, Carmen, Allan, and large extended family and friends, all of whom will miss him immensely.
After moving to Canada from Kingston, Jamaica in 1977, Dalton settled in Oshawa, where he worked for 26 years at the Whitby Psychiatric Hospital (now Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences), before retiring to his garden, scrumptious recipes, ocean cruises and other inspired passions.
Despite his final health struggles, Dalton maintained the infectious sweetness of his singing to the very end, and his absence is felt by all those he touched.
The family would like to extend its heartfelt appreciation to all the employees and volunteers at Oak Ridges Hospice.
The viewing will be held at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, Whitby, on Wednesday, May 4th, 2022 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Thursday, May 5th from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m., with the service commencing on at 11 a.m. in the chapel.
Interment to follow at MOUNT LAWN CEMETERY.
