STANLEY, Mary Eileen (nee Kiteley) Stanley - Passed away suddenly on April 27, 2022 at the age of 77.
Mary Eileen (“Willy”) is survived by her husband Gerry, their daughter Ashley (born April 27, 1998) and her son Christian Wilson (born December 28, 1973).
Mary Eileen’s older son Mark Wilson passed away on September 21, 2011.
Mary Eileen is survived by her maternal grandsons Mackenzie Wilson, Braeden Wilson and Tyler Wilson.
Mary Eileen is predeceased by her parents Arthur and Mary Kiteley.
Mary Eileen was born on October 12, 1944 in Brandon, Manitoba. When Arthur returned from service overseas in 1947, the family moved to Mimico, Ontario and three sisters were born: Margaret, Frances and Susan.
Mary Eileen trained as a nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Toronto. Mary Eileen and Gerry married in 1986.
As a Child Care Worker, Gerry was then employed at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. Mary Eileen and Gerry became foster parents, caring initially for infants in Toronto.
They moved to Bowmanville so as to increase their accommodations to enable them to provide temporary and long term homes to many children. When they retired as foster parents, Mary Eileen and Gerry and Ashley moved to Oshawa.
Mary Eileen will be laid to rest at MOUNT LAWN CEMETERY, Whitby with her immediate family in attendance.
A celebration of her life will be held later.
