TAPSCOTT, Marion Elizabeth (nee Thomas) Tapscott   - Passed away peacefully at age 97 at Butternut Manor, Uxbridge on May 3, 2022.

Loving and devoted mother of John (Adelaide) and Ann.

Cherished grandmother of Julie Tapscott, Joshua Watson (Jadelyn Beukeboom), Sarah Watson.

Also survived by brother James Thomas (Jean); sisters-in-law Edna Thomas, Doris Thomas, Margaret Tapscott; many nephews and nieces.

Predeceased by loving husband Norman (2001), parents Herbert and Catherine, brothers Robert and Donald.

Born and raised on a farm on the 9th Line, Markham Township, Betty is fondly remembered as a fine student, respected primary school teacher, devoted wife; proud and supportive mother and grandmother; member of Sweet Adelines and several choirs; life-long Christian and church member (including the UCW); active community member (Markham, Epsom, Uxbridge), and since 2013 resided at Butternut Manor where she received excellent care and was fully involved in the life of the residence.

Betty was a sociable person whose visits, phone calls and cards brightened the days of relatives and friends. Thanks to Dr. Munn and nurse Jacky for compassionate care.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 25 at 11am at St. Andrews-Chalmers Presbyterian Church, 40 Toronto Street South, Uxbridge L9P 1G9. Visitation will be 1 hour prior. Interment, Markham.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Trinity United Church, Uxbridge, or the Arthritis Society would be appreciated.
